Plan your gravel order
How much material do I need?
Multiply length × width in feet by depth in inches and divide by 324 to get cubic yards. The volume is the same whatever you spread: a 12 × 12 ft area at 3 inches is 1.33 cubic yards. The weight is not. At each calculator’s published preset, that yardage runs from 1.61 tons of #57 stone to 1.91 tons of road base, so pick the material before you convert to tons.
